Her rise to fame is truly inspiring, full of challenges, hard work, and a bit of luck. In a recent Starr Chat interview with Bola Ray, she shared how her journey was marked by perseverance and a bit of luck.
McBrown’s story began with significant struggles. After facing deportation, she found herself in a dire situation, feeling frustrated and hopeless.

“I was deported and frustrated, crying every day,” she recalled. During this challenging period, she heard an interview on Fox FM with Kwame Owusu Ansah, a key figure in the Ghanaian film industry. Ansah’s interview provided contact information for Miracle Films, which became a turning point for McBrown.
Determined to improve her situation, McBrown reached out to Miracle Films. Although she wanted to register as an actress, she did not have the required funds. Nevertheless, her perseverance impressed the film company. “I registered, but I didn’t have money. I promised to bring the money later, and they allowed me to register,” she explained.
Her path to stardom continued with an audition at the Cultural Center, where she found that roles had already been assigned. “They were trying to figure out who to give the roles to. I sat and watched, thinking I would read the script, but they were auditioning themselves,” she said. Despite this setback, McBrown’s determination did not wane.

Her breakthrough came when the president of Miracle Films announced a new project involving a crew from Kumasi. McBrown offered to help with costumes, despite having no prior knowledge about them. “He told me to come and learn, and that’s how my journey began,” she stated.
