Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy recently addressed critics who accuse him of being stingy because he doesn’t throw money at fans during public events.
In an interview with media personality Emmanuel Quest on Ark FM in Sunyani, Stonebwoy took the opportunity to clarify his stance on the issue ahead of his highly anticipated Telecel Turn Up tour.
The BHIM Nation leader explained that he considers throwing money at fans to be disrespectful. Instead, he prefers to personally hand money to his fans.

“I’ve never liked the habit of throwing money on fans,” Stonebwoy explained. “It’s a form of disrespect. If I were to throw money around, there’s a chance that only one person might grab all of it while others don’t get anything. I would rather give money directly to people so everyone has a fair chance.”
Stonebwoy elaborated on his reasoning, highlighting the potential risks involved in such public displays.
“When money is thrown, it can create chaos. People might get hurt in the scramble to pick it up. I’ve witnessed fans injuring themselves just trying to get close to my vehicle in town. It’s a dangerous situation that can easily spiral out of control.”
The artist’s comments reflect a deeper consideration for his fans’ safety and dignity. Stonebwoy emphasized that his approach to sharing money is intended to be more personal and respectful.

“I’m always looking for ways to connect with my fans and show appreciation, but I want to do it in a manner that’s safe and respectful. It’s disheartening that despite my efforts to find better ways to engage, some people still perceive me as stingy.”
Stonebwoy’s statements have sparked a mixed reaction on social media. Supporters have praised him for his thoughtful approach and commitment to treating his fans with respect.
They argue that his method of personally handing out money demonstrates a genuine appreciation for his followers.
On the other hand, some detractors argue that he should adopt more conventional methods of rewarding fans, such as throwing money, to better align with popular trends.
