Martha Ankomah shares what would lead her to play “Bad Girl” roles in movies (Video)

Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah recently opened up about her acting career and her thoughts on playing “bad girl” roles in movies.

In a recent interview on Adom TV’s Badwam Ahosepe, Ankomah discussed her approach to accepting these types of roles and what factors influence her choices.

Ankomah stated that she is open to playing “bad girl” characters, but only if the film’s story is meaningful and positively affects the audience. She emphasized that the quality of the storyline is key to her acceptance of such roles.

“I still play bad girl roles in movies, but I always say that it depends on the storyline,” Ankomah explained.

She compared “bad girl” roles to the character of Judas in films about Jesus Christ, explaining that, despite Judas being a villain, his role was significant to the story’s development.

“If you’ve watched films about Jesus, you know everyone dislikes Judas. However, Judas’s actions were crucial for us to understand and accept the story of Jesus. His role was important,” Ankomah explained. “For me, it’s about the storyline. If playing a bad girl can lead to a positive change in someone’s life, then I’m willing to take on that role.”

Ankomah also mentioned that she is not concerned with potential criticism from fans regarding such roles. Instead, she focuses on how the story can make a positive impact, as acting provides her with the means to support herself.
