Ghanaian musician Kwame Yogot has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) offered him GH₵500,000 to use his hit song “Biibi Besi” for their 2024 election campaign in support of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Kwame Yogot, known for his popular hit “Biibi Besi,” disclosed that the offer was made in 2023 by a team from the NPP led by Nana Akomea.
Despite the tempting amount, the deal did not materialize due to disagreements with his former management.
“At that time, my management was demanding GH₵1 million instead, and because I was dealing with issues with them, I chose not to pursue the offer,” Yogot explained.

It will be recalled that in June 2023, Kwame Yogot publicly criticized Vice President Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team for using his song without permission.
The musician expressed his frustration in a video shared by One Ghana TV, where he warned the campaign team to cease using “Biibi Besi” at their events.
At the time, he also highlighted the financial and emotional costs involved in creating his music and voiced concerns about the potential repercussions of unauthorized use in political campaigns.
