Nigerian Afrobeat star Damini Ogulu, famously known as Burna Boy, has recently caused a stir by breaking his silence over the ongoing hunger protests across Nigeria.
His response comes after numerous fans and internet users called him out for not participating in the protests against bad governance and rising food prices.
The protests, which erupted on Thursday, saw citizens taking to the streets to express their frustration over the skyrocketing cost of food and bad governance.

Burna Boy, who had been called out by fans and critics alike for his perceived silence, took to his X account to clarify his position.
Burna Boy posted a quote from his earlier tweet from October 20, 2020, saying, “The fight in me Died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around.”
In an Instagram Live session, he further clarified that he never claimed to be an activist, but rather someone who is deeply affected by the dire situations in the country.
“I never told you guys I was any activist,” Burna Boy explained. “I’m just a niggga that sees this shiit and is just heartbroken by how helpless the situation is.”
