Musician A-Plus, also known as Kwame Asare Obeng, has been called upon by the police to assist with the investigation into journalist Ahmed Suale’s death.
In a statement released on July 15, the police said that the information provided by A Plus will help the investigative team make significant progress in the investigation.
“The Ghana Police Service has today, 15th July 2024, invited Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as (A-Plus) to assist the Police’s ongoing investigation into the death of Ahmed Suale, following his recent claims on social media that he has some information regarding the case,” the statement said.

The police further clarified that a Cold Case Unit, established in October 2021, under the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, has been actively engaging with the deceased’s family and working closely to identify the culprits.
“The Cold Case Unit established in October 2021, under the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to handle cases of this nature has been working on the investigation into the case and closely engaging with the deceased’s family.
“The Police is therefore pleased that Mr. Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) has made indication that he has some information that could assist the ongoing investigation, and he has been invited accordingly”, parts of the statement clarified.
Kwame A Plus alleged in a Facebook live session on Friday, July 13, that he has information about the identity of the killers of Ahmed Suale and is ready to substantiate his claim if requested.
The independent parliamentary candidate hopeful for Gomoa Central said “Me, I know the person who killed Ahmed Suale. I swear to God… I swear by the children I have brought to this world, if you try me, you will conduct a press conference every day.

“I’ve said it, I know the person who killed Ahmed Suale. I know the person who allegedly killed Ahmed Suale, so focus on your campaign. If you like, go and call the police.
“I, Kwame A Plus, will go and write a statement, and they will make it public… from 2017, you’ve always known you can’t fight me. Can’t you focus on your campaign and leave me?” he questioned.

The Tiger Eye P.I investigative journalist Ahmed Suale was murdered at Madina on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, by two unidentified assailants.
Suale was shot twice in the chest and once in the neck after breaking into his car. No arrests have been made yet, 6 years after the incident.
