Ghanaian actress Haniya Rosemond Alade Brown popularly called Akuapem Poloo recently addressed a viral video that caused a stir on social media in March 2024.
In the video, Akuapem Poloo was seen smashing the windshield of a car belonging to musician Theo Vesachi, an incident that occurred during Ramadan.
Speaking in an interview on Accra FM on May 22, 2024, Poloo clarified that the incident was indeed staged.

She explained that Theo Vesachi approached her with the idea as part of a publicity stunt to promote his upcoming song.
“Everyone knows I’m an actress and I don’t mind creating controversy. Theo had a song coming up so he approached me and asked that we do something controversial to bring attention to the song,” she said.
She clarified that the incident was purely an act.
“I was even afraid but he assured me that he would buy a new one. So I did and truly, that same day, he replaced it.

“I’m an actress, it was just acting, nothing is going on between us. I was paid for the act and he also got views for his song,” she said.
On the potential backlash after the incident, Akuapem Poloo said she explained the issue to those concerned, saying, “The Muslim community was worried when the video came up, but I explained myself to them and assured them that it was staged. So it was settled.”
