Shou Zi Chew is a Singaporean businessman and entrepreneur who has served as chief executive officer (CEO) of TikTok since 2021.
Prior to joining TikTok, Chew worked at Goldman Sachs in London for two years as a banker before he joined Yuri Milner’s venture capital firm DST Global.
At DST Global, Chew led investment into JD.com, Alibaba, and Xiaomi. In 2015, Chew joined smartphone giant Xiaomi as its chief financial officer.
He subsequently replaced TikTok CEO Kevin A. Mayer, who left the ByteDance subsidiary after three months on the job.

Chew was born on 1 January 1983 in Singapore. He celebrated his 41st birthday in2023.
He graduated from Hwa Chong Junior College and University College London with a Bachelor of Economics degree.
He later completed a Master of Business Administration degree at Harvard Business School.
