Heidelinde Weis, Austrian actress known to German television audiences for her appearances in “Derrick”, “Schwarzwaldklinik” and “Traumschiff”, has died at the age of 83.

Heidelinde Weis died on Friday at the age of 83. The Austrian “Kronen Zeitung” and ORF initially reported her death.

Heidelinde Weis died of heart failure on the evening of the 24th November 2023 after a attack in the hospital in Villach.

The 81-year-old sister of the deceased Ingrid Weiss confirmed death and spoke of heart failure, as reported by the “BILD”.

Heidelinde Weis first came to the Villach hospital after a weakness attack, before she died in the evening.

 

Who was Heidelinde Weis?

Heidelinde Weis was born on September 17, 1940 in Villach, Carinthia, Austria.

She is the daughter of a commercial employee, she attended a business school and played the title role of an adaptation of the fairy tale Hans im Glück at the age of 14 at the Austrian School stage.

After her acting education at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna in 1957/58 (together with Erika Pluhar), she belonged to the permanent ensemble of the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna in 1959/60.

She made her cinema debut in 1959 in the film I married Mr. Director, in which she portrayed a ambitious stenographer.

Heidelinde Weis was married to the 21 year older theatre producer Hellmuth Duna from 1960 until his death in 1998.

She has been going on tour frequently with its stage since then. From 1962 to 1981 she gave guest performances at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm, in Hamburg, Düsseldorf and the Theater in Brienner Straße in Munich, among others.

She was particularly successful in Colombe by Anouilh, but also as Isabella in measure and Olivia in what she wanted was convincing.
