The TV presenter and actor Annabel Giles has died, months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour, her family has announced. She was 64.

Annabel, who formerly starred in a series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, passed away peacefully yesterday at Martlets Hospice in Hove aged 64.

Who was Annabel Giles?

Born May 20, 1959, Annabel Giles is a former television and radio presenter, novelist and model.

The 59-year-old was born in Pontypool, Wales, and started her media career in the 1990s for ITV show’s Razzmatazz and Night Network.

She is best known as co-presenter of ITV’s Posh Frocks and New Trousers with Sarah Greene, and has also appeared on Have I Got News For You, Through the Keyhole, and Noel’s House Party.

The former The Wright Stuff guest has one daughter with ex-husband and Ultravox lead singer Midge Ure who she was married to between 1985.

Her children, Molly and Tedd, paid tribute to their ‘one of a kind’ mother, who had been diagnosed with a stage 4 Glioblastoma, a type of brain tumour, in July earlier this year.

Annabel Giles married the lead singer of Ultravox, Midge Ure, a founder of Band Aid and Live Aid.

Their daughter, Molly McQueen, was born in March 1987. Giles and Ure separated in 1989.

Giles has a second child, a son named Ted Giles, who was born with XYY syndrome and Asperger syndrome; in 2011, having written a blog outlining the difficulties in educating a child with these issues, she received help from an anonymous benefactor towards his education.

In July 2023 Annabel was diagnosed with cancer, and died on the 20th of November 2023 at Martlets Hospice in Hove, her children announced in a statement

A statement shared via her Instagram account by her children Molly and Tedd, said their “incredible mother” had died on Monday afternoon at Martlets hospice in Hove. It read: “In July, Mum was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly aggressive malignant brain tumour.

“In the four months that followed, she displayed remarkable resilience and strength, despite undergoing brain surgery and countless radiotherapies. In her final weeks, she was passionate about raising awareness for glioblastoma, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others.
