Tracy Vo is an Australian journalist, radio and television news presenter, reporter and author.
Tracy, who has been part of the Nine News team since 2007, is the weekend news presenter for Nine News Perth. She is also a senior reporter in the newsroom.
Who is Tracy Vo?
Tracy Vo born 1983 grew up in Perth and completed her schooling at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School at Nollamara and Hollywood Senior High School.
She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Curtin University. Vo’s early career included stints at Sydney radio station 2SM, and Sky News Australia.
Vo subsequently started in television and joined the Nine Network firstly in Sydney at TCN in 2007 where she remained until 2012, after which she returned to Perth for personal reasons, and commenced working as a journalist at the Nine Network Perth.
In 2014, Vo published a book entitled Small Bamboo, which detailed her parents’ arrival in Australia in the late 1970s as Vietnamese boat people following the Vietnam War.
In 2016, Vo was appointed news presenter on local Today Perth presenting live half-hourly local news bulletins throughout the time-delayed broadcast of national breakfast show, Today.
She remained in the position until 2018 when she was appointed presenter of the Nine Network’s local afternoon program, Nine Live Perth.
In December 2019, it was announced Vo had been appointed the news presenter on the network’s national breakfast show, Today.
She commenced this role on 6 January 2020. As a Vietnamese-Australian, Vo’s appointment meant she became one of only a few Asian faces on commercial television in Australia.
Nine’s decision to appoint Vo to such a prominent role at the network was met with praise, and was described by one media outlet as “symbolic of progress towards greater media representation of Australia’s multicultural population”.
In March 2020, Vo permanently returned to Perth due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On her return to Perth, Vo replaced Louise Momber as weekend presenter of Nine News Perth.
Alex Cullen replaced Vo on Today presenting both news and sport.

Nine News reporter Tracy Vo married her partner Liam Connolly at a star-studded ceremony on Saturday.
The who’s who of Australian television graced the city of Perth to attend the wedding.
Tracy, 39, stunned as she walked down the aisle at the picturesque Moana Hall in a beaded, strapless wedding gown.
The TV-star’s dress featured sheer layering and elaborate pearlescent details as well as a long veil.
Surrounded by her celebrity pals, she shared a sweet moment with her groom, who looked dapper in a classic tuxedo.
Tracy was walked down the aisle by a relative, who appeared to be her father, while carrying a bunch of yellow and white blooms.
The newlyweds then partied into the night, posing for selfies with their A-list guests.
Among the attendees was Nine’s Sylvia Jeffreys and her Sky News journalist husband Peter Stefanovic, the power couple of Australian media.
Sylvia, 37, looked chic in a strapless maxi dress that she teamed up with a black designer bag and strappy heels.
Peter, 41, also looked stylish in navy suit as he arrived to the venue alongside his wife.
Tracy Vo children?
Tracy Vo doesn’t have any children but Liam appears to.
The media icon posted a photo on Instagram of her new hubby holding a young girl in his arms at a café in Perth.
The caption said: “How lucky we are @liammc15, you’re a beautiful father to Sophia.
“She loves you so much.”
Before ending the cute message with: “BIG LOVE to all the dads.”
That is the only time baby Sophia has appeared on her social media.
The pair also share a white, west highland terrier called Ollie who is a regular feature on Tracy’s Instagram.
The Vietnamese-Australian journalist has done a whole host of jobs in the media industry – starting on the radio and making her way through TV, book publishing, presenting and writing.
