He has two siblings, one being a sister and the other sibling being a brother. When Keith was in grade school, the family lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas, for a few years before moving to Moore, Oklahoma, while he was still young.
Before the family moved to Moore, he spent the summers with his grandmother in Fort Smith. His grandmother ran Billie Garner’s Supper Club in Fort Smith, where he became fascinated by the musicians who performed there.
He started doing odd jobs around the supper club and eventually got up on the bandstand to play with the band. He got his first guitar when he was eight years old.
Keith attended Highland West Junior High and Moore High School after his family relocated to Moore, where he played defensive end on the football team.
