Josh Seiter’s ‘death’ was announced in a heartbreaking statement on his Instagram account, and the former Bachelorette star is now claiming he was hacked in a new post.

On Monday, August 28, 2023, an initial announcement was made – by what seemed like Josh Seiter’s family – on his Instagram feed confirming the TV personality’s death.
“As all who knew him can attest, Joshua was an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world,” the statement said in part.
“His fearless voice and indomitable spirit helped thousands of people in their darkest moments feel just a little less alone.
It continued: “Although our heartache at Joshua’s passing pains us beyond measure, we find comfort knowing that he is finally at peace.”
The since-deleted statement did not provide a cause of death but noted that Seiter’s Instagram would be kept up so that he could live on through his posts.
At the time, fans flooded social media with their respects.
“RIP Josh. I know what you went through. Hope you found peace…” one person said.
Another wrote: “RIP my god please give his family your hands wrapped around them. Tragic. So sad.”

Taking to his page with a video on Tuesday, the star, 36, said: ‘Hey guys, as you can see, I am alive and well, my account was hacked, for the last 24 hours I have been trying desperately to get into it.
‘Somebody was playing a cruel joke, mocking my mental illness and the struggles I’ve gone through with depression and suicide attempts, I’m sorry for all the pain they caused when they made that post.
‘I just got back into my account, I’m going to do all I can with my team to try to identify who is behind this. I apologize again for the confusion and I will update you guys when more facts come in.’

What season of The Bachelorette was Josh Seiter on?
Seiter starred in season 11 of The Bachelorette back in 2015.
At the time, he was vying for Kaitlyn Bristowe but was ultimately sent home during week one.
Since then, Seiter has come out as bisexual and is very open about his journey on Instagram.
