Derek Carr is an American football quarterback for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL).
He played college football at Fresno State, where he twice received first-team All-MWC honors, and was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Carr helped the Raiders reach the playoffs during the 2016 season, the franchise’s first appearance since 2002, as well as another postseason berth in 2021.

‘ESPN RISE’ named him the ‘National Football Player of the Week’ on October 29, 2008, and he was also named the ‘2008 All-Area Football Player of the Year’ by ‘The Bakersfield Californian.’ At the end of his senior year, ‘National Private Schools Athletic Association’ selected Carr as the ‘National Player of the Year 2009.’
