Ryan Mallett is a son of Jim and Debbie Mallett, and grew up in Texas where he went to the Texas High School in Texarkana. Mallett played football there, and in his rookie year, he recorded 152 completions on 316 passes for 2,307 yards, 18 touchdowns, and ten interceptions. In his junior year, Mallett had 133 completed passes out of 221 attempts for 2,219 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
He was fantastic in his senior year, with 204 completions from 321 attempts for 3,353 yards, 33 touchdowns, and only three intercepted passes. Mallett was selected as the Gatorade Player of the Year in Texas in 2006, played a role in the US Army All-American Bowl in 2007, and also won the Glenn Davis Army Award as the MVP of the Western team. At the time, Mallett was ranked as the #2 high school quarterback in the country.

Watt in week 11 of the season against the Cleveland Browns. Mallet injured his pectoral muscle against the Cincinnati Bengals and was sidelined for the remainder of the season.
In 2014, he competed with former teammate Brian Hoyer for the starting QB spot, and neither of them didn’t impress during their respective time with the Texans; Mallett was released in October 2015, but the Baltimore Ravens signed him to replace the injured Matt Schaub, another former Texans quarterback.
As Joe Flacco was also injured, Mallett started the few games for the Ravens until Flacco returned. He recorded 178 completions for 1,753 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions in his NFL career thus far.
