Who Was Saskia Hamilton?
Saskia Hamilton was born in 1967, in Washington DC, and from an early age, she exhibited a deep passion for literature.
She graduated from Kenyon College with a B.A., New York University with an M.A., and Boston University with a Ph.D. She worked at the Lannan Foundation and the Folger Shakespeare Library in addition to teaching at Barnard College.
She lectured at Barnard College in addition to her role as an advising editor for the Review. She was a judge for the 2009 Gryphon Poetry Prize. Five poetry collections by Saskia are As for Dream, Canal, Divide These, Corridor, and All Souls.
She has edited several poetry and letter collections, including The Dolphin Letters, 1970-1979: Elizabeth Hardwick, Robert Lowell, and Their Circle and The Letters of Robert Lowell.

She is remembered for such publications as Corridor, Graywolf Press; Canal Arc; Divide These; and As for Dream, Graywolf Press. On the eleventh song of the Ben Folds and Nick Hornby album Lonely Avenue from 2010, Saskia was the subject of a song with the same name.
