Timme served as a crucial reserve for the Bulldogs for the most of his true freshman season, occasionally starting. Timme was selected for the WCC Freshmen All-Star team.

On February 8, 2020, Timme scored a season-high 20 points in a 90-60 victory over Saint Mary’s. In the Bulldogs’ victory over Saint Mary’s in the 2020 WCC tournament championship game, he scored 17 points, which equaled him for the team lead.

Timme led the club with a 61.8 percent field goal percentage and averaged 9.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Timme was added to the Preseason All-WCC team and the Karl Malone Award shortlist before the start of his sophomore campaign. He contributed 28 points and 10 rebounds in a 90-67 victory over Auburn on November 27, 2020.

Timme helped Gonzaga go to the championship game with averages of 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. He won the Karl Malone Award, was named to the first team All-WCC, and was a unanimous second-team All-America pick.

Timme contributed a then-career-high 37 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in an 86-74 victory over fifth-ranked Texas on November 13, 2021. During the course of 32 games, he averaged 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

Timme was selected the WCC Player of the Year and a unanimous second-team All-American at the conclusion of the regular season.

After the season, he declared for the NBA Draft in 2022, but he ultimately withdrew so that he could finish his senior year at Gonzaga.

Timme was selected as an undisputed preseason All-American heading into his senior year. On January 21, 2023, he outscored Pacific 99-90 to set a new career best.

On February 3, 2023, Timme scored 15 points to record his 2,000th career point in an 88-70 victory over Santa Clara.

Timme and Brandin Podziemski of Santa Clara both received the title of co-WCC Player of the Year. After Blake Stepp won the award in 2003 and 2004, he was the first player to win it twice.

Timme was also recognized as a first-team All-American by consensus. Timme’s 2,196-point career scoring total, which Frank Burgess had established in 1961, was surpassed on March 7 during the Bulldogs’ 77-51 victory against Saint Mary’s in the West Coast Conference tournament title game.

He was also voted the Most Outstanding Player of the Competition.
