Bruno Former Rhythm City actor and Kwaito artist Brian Bruno Majola has died

A family friend confirmed the news to the publication saying they will compile a cause of death once all the details are made available to them.

“I am not okay at all. I need to meet up with the family in order for us to put a statement together and send all the necessary information, but I can confirm that he has passed on,” said the relative.

Brian Bruno Majola Biography.

Raised by a single parent in Dube, Soweto without the presence of his father and in search of a father figure, Brian Majola acted up as most teenagers do. He chose crime as his outlet for how he felt and what he was going through.

His actions resulted in him finding Leeukop prison as his new home in his early teens. Sentence to six years in jail the feisty juvenile found himself spending most of his childhood behind bars.

Even during his time in jail Bruno found it hard to be remorseful at first and would spend time behind bars in isolation. During isolation was where the growing teenager would discover his love for writing and music. At Leeukop prison he joined a group of musicians from inside prison and slowly started his journey toward rehabilitation.

Prior to his release from prison, Bruno had formed a duo with former inmate Fistos and thus Gumshev was born. As Gumshev they approached Lance Stehr of Ghetto Ruff who would meet up with them upon their release and unleash the reality of their dreams.

Gumshev’s debut album “Straight Out Of Prison” would be their first offering to the music industry after nine months of being out of prison. The album was filled with their life lessons from their experiences and compacted with their talents.

With Fistos’ guitar skills and Bruno’s vocal skills, the two dished up tracks like “Hosh”, “Temptations” and “Matha”. The nature of the album and their life stories landed them positions as facilitators and headline performers at the Cape Town Youth Festival 2007, with them reaching over 20000 youth from Cape Town and surrounding areas of the Western Cape.

Gumshev’s career went from strength to strength as they performed alongside some of South Africa’s legendary and mainstream artists with the likes of Malik, Amu, Pro Kid, Dj Cleo, Zola, Ishmael, and Bongani Fassie, Denko and many more. They even got to share a stage with international star Keith Murray on his visit to South Africa.

PmTheir follow-up album “Sphandu’ Cash” was produced by Hip Hop legend Amu and contained “Get Down” the first single which received high rotation and make waves in the local Hip Hop. Bruno is a multi-talented artist and his acting talents even landed him a role on ETV’s popular soapie Rhythm City. As an actor, Bruno has also appeared on Ekasi Stories and Inkaba.

The Majola family has not yet issued a statement regarding Majola’s passing; however, relatives and close friends of the actor who formerly starred in Rhythm City have confirmed his death to City Press.

There is still a lack of information regarding the circumstances surrounding his passing. However, information obtained from reliable sources indicates that the musician-turned-actor passed away on Monday evening, around 18:00.

Because of the success of the duo’s album, he was able to interact with a number of South African celebrities on the A-list, including the following:

MXO, Pitch Black Afro, Pro Kid, DJ Cleo, and Zola 7 are some of the artists that come to mind. Da L.E.S

In addition to his role on Rhythm City, Brian Bruno Majola has also starred in the critically acclaimed television show Inkaba, which airs on Mzansi Magic.

Reactions to His Death.

The passing of Bruno is being mourned just one day after the discovery of the lifeless body of Kwaito legend Tokollo “Magesh” Tshabalala in his residence. Following the tragedy, fans have taken to various social media platforms to pay tribute to the slain celebrities.
