Ghanaian actress and TV presenter, Nana Ama McBrown has for the first time disclosed that one of her fallopian tubes is totally damaged.
Nana Ama McBrown, who had her first baby in 2020 at age 41 after many years of trying is sharing her journey to being a mom to encourage women who are looking for the fruit of the womb.

The actress reveals that her other tube was also not functioning well and the only option for her to get pregnant is to use IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) a medical procedure whereby an egg is fertilized by sperm in a test tube or elsewhere outside the body.
According to Nana Ama Mcbrown who is in her mid-forties, she has been wanting to have a child since the age of 23.
“I’ve always wanted a baby since age 23, more than 20 years now, way before I started my career but along the line I had to let it go and concentrate on my career hoping for nature to take its course,” she said in an interview hosted by Naa Ashorkor.
Sharing new details of her journey in an interview on We Got This Africa with Naa Ashorkor, the award-winning actress revealed she had to resort to IVF treatment in order to get pregnant.

“I started the treatment again mainly about 8 years ago. Maxin (her daughter) is almost 3 years now. The last 8 years have been more intense. They’ll tell you they need to wash your womb,” she told Naa.
Even before she started her IVF treatment, Nana Ama McBrown also revealed she had to wash her womb six times.
“I washed my womb for about six times. And the six times I had already done some in 2006. I realised after the sixth time that it wasn’t working for me,” she shared.
“However, when I started the IVF, it took about 8 months to get pregnant and that is because I had fibroid and they had to take it out.
