“WELCOME TO GHANA’S FIRST HOUSE MADE FROM PLASTIC WASTEWith help from the Skills Development Fund supported by Danida, Nelson Boateng and his company Nelplast has succeeded in turning the idea of houses and pavements made from plastic into reality. With just the idea, he applied to the Skills Development Fund for support to train his staff and now Nelplast is the only company in Ghana to make price competitive bricks and tiles from plastic waste collected in the local community. Last week, Ambassador Tom Nørring visited the first house built from the plastic bricks and the factory where the bricks and tiles are made. Around 13,000 kilograms of plastic were recycled into bricks for the house.”
