Nigerian singers Burna Boy and Wizkid win at 2021 Grammy……Nigerian Afro-fusion singer Burna Boy, known in private life as Damini Ogulu, has won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Global Music Album’ at the 2021 Grammy Award event held on Sunday night, March 14, 2021.
Burna Boy won the award for his acclaimed 2020 album, “Twice As Tall”.

The 29-year-old Port Harcourt-born singer has become the first Nigerian artiste ever to win in that category.
It should be noted that this is the second time the Anybody’s crooner would be making a shot at the Grammy.

Another Nigerian singer, Wizkid, also won for “Best Music Video” with the song “Brown Skin Girl” alongside Beyoncé, Saint Jhn and Blue Ivy.
Afro-pop singer Tiwa Savage was credited for her contribution to Coldplay’s 2020 album, Everyday Life, which was nominated for “Album of the Year” but she did not win a Grammy plaque.

It should be noted that the 63rd award of the ceremony was earlier scheduled for January but had to be shifted because of the coronavirus pandemic restrictions.
