Section of the Ghanaian populist were made to tidy up the streets after they were apprehended for not putting on face masks.
Residence in Dome and Agbogbloshie in Accra were forced to adhere to the wearing of face mask as part of the COVID-19 protocols by personnels from the military and the police.

Meanwhile, some inhabitants in the areas mentioned above were seen moving about in public areas without face mask.
The victims were later asked to tidy up the streets and gutters in their respective areas.
According to reports, most of these victims were passengers on board and motorbike riders without the mask.

“They [those arrested] were given brooms and shovels, directed and supervised by the police and military to sweep the streets and gutters for disobeying President’s Akufo-Addo’s directive on facemask wearing,” Frederick Clarence Williams noted.
As said by the president H.E Nana Akuffo-Addo, it is now an offence to step in public without a face mask.
Those who violate the rules could face between 4-10 years imprisonments or pay a fine of GHC12,000 to GHC60,000
