It has always been a tussel among Christians when it comes to tithing and especially when religious leaders make it an issue.
The issue of tithing has always been be a topic of discussion particularly among Nigerians and it doesn’t look like it is stopping any moment soon.

Few days ago, the comedian Basketmouth took to his official Instagram page to break silence over the tweet of founder and pastor of megachurch Faith Tabernacle, Bishop David Oyedepo.
It was earlier reported that the Bishop spoke about tithing through his official Twitter page. As stated by the Preacher, tithing is an inevitable covenants duty.
The Man of God stated that no one can be prosperous without paying tithe, adding that whoever does not pay tithe is under a financial curse.

Reacting to the clergyman’s statement, Basketmouth revealed that the church threatens people to pay tithe after the threat of the government about tax payment.
Registering his dissatisfaction at the tweet of Bishop Oyedepo, the commedian lamented over the condition of the country’s economy and the rate of unemployment.
“The Govt will threaten us with prosecution if we don’t pay our TAX & VAT. The CHURCH will now threaten us with a FINANCIAL CURSE if you don’t pay your TITHE! Inside the TERRIBLE ECONOMY? With the LEVEL OF UNEMPLOYMENT?ABEGI,” he wrote
