Nollywood actress Funke Akindele apologises for holding party amid coronavirus pandemic

Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has rendered an apology to her fans on social media after she and husband JJC Skillz were slammed for hosting a house party despite the lockdown order amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Recall that the actress and her husband were dragged on social media after video of the birthday party emerged online.

The house party was held at a time the federal government declared curfew in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun state over the pandemic.

Funke, however, took to her official Instagram page to explain what happened and she also apologised for putting the video on social media.

The mother-of-twins in a 3-minute Instagram video expressed her regrets, saying that she’ll never intentionally mislead anybody in this perilous times.

Funke explained that everyone that was present at the party was a part of the filming crew of a project that’d been in the offing before government initiated a lockdown in a move to curb the spread of the virus.

She concluded by apologizing and promising to practice what she preaches.

“I hear you all and I acknowledge all your honest feedback. I also thank you for your concerns, well wishes and calls,” she said.

“I am sorry and hope this video offers some explanation.”
