Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Things Fall Apart’ pops up at Supreme Court nominee’s vetting

Award-winning rapper and singer, Kofi Kinaata has gained major recognition this year with his ‘Things Fall Apart’ hit song.

Kinaata’s ‘Things Fall Apart’ song came up during the Supreme Court vetting of Justice Gertrude Torkonoo.

A great fan of Kofi Kinaata, Joseph Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Effia Constituency asked a question about the ‘Things Fall Apart’ hit song.

The ‘Things Fall Apart’ hit song speaks about the hypocritical nature of Ghanaians in the religious circles.

After Justice Gertrude Torkonoo had expressed her love for evangelism and the Christian faith and values, Mr. Cudjoe wanted to know her views on the popular song.

The MP quoted parts of the song which said: “churches own schools but members struggle to pay for the tuition of their wards in those schools.”

He asked Justice Torkonoo about her views on that part of the song.

Though she acknowledged the song, she eluded the attempt by the MP to get her views on the song.

Honorable Member, this is a kind of question I’ll like to discuss with my daughters around the dinner table”, she responded.

Joseph Cudjoe also disclosed Kofi Kinaata, is a member of his constituency and so he was soliciting the nominee’s view on his hit song.
