Parents of 18-year-old r@pe victim struggling to raise GHc500 for medical report needed for prosecution

The parents of a r@pe victim in Aflao who is just 18 years say they are having some challenges raising GHC500 for a medical report at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

From Joy News desk, without the medical report, not much can be done to prosecute the alleged perpetrators. Meanwhile officials at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital says the fee is inevitable.

It is said two self-styled evangelist were responsible for her kidnapping and continuously raped her for four months.

According to Joy News, the victim was forced to abort a pregnancy during the ordeal at the hands of George Andrews and Maxwell Peter, the two suspected Nigerians who demanded a ransom prior to her release.

The victim’s parent claim they have spent almost 4,000 in medical bills at hospitals in Akatsi in the Volta Region already and Korle-Bu since she was rescued on August 8, 2019.

The Keta circuit court has already adjourned the case twice, with the suspects expected to reappear on September 26, 2019.

Rev. Father Anthony Amposah, leader of a team of private psychiatrists and psychologists and his team is offering psychological therapy to the victim without charges after she threatened to commit suicide.

If the family is unable to secure the medical report, the quest to justice will be impaired as the victim continues to struggle.
