A police officer has allegedly shot himself dead at Akim Swedru in the Birim South District of the Eastern Region , Atinkanews.net has discovered.
Lance Corporal Alhassan Asare who went for duty at about 5:45pm at Dukes Petroleum Fuel station on Monday August 19, 2019 was found seated in a plastic chair with severe wounds to the head and blood stains on his body and on the floor with the service rifle in between his thighs pointing towards his head.

His body has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy. Police have described the incident as “unnatural death”.
According to a situational report sighted by Atinkanews.net , a colleague visited the said fuel station at about 5:40am on Tuesday August 20, 2019.
He was spotted on a plastic chair with his rifle in between his thighs with severe gunshot wounds in the head with his uniform soaked with blood.
