Year of Return : Steve Harvey Meets Billionaire Kevin Okyere In Ghana

Steve Harvey, the American TV star, has arrived in Ghana with his family as part of the 400th anniversary of the start of the slave trade which has been dubbed Year of Return.

The Year of Return, an initiative aimed at marking 400 years since the first black slaves landed in Jamestown Virginia is taking off like fire.

Already, the initiative that urges Africans in the diaspora to come back home, has seen an array of celebrities make their way into Ghana to explore, learn and appreciate their roots.

American comedian and television host, Steve Harvey, has joined the array of African American diasporan who have visited to learn more about their roots to slavery.

Arriving in Accra, Harvey was welcomed by the Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture, Mrs Barbara Oteng Gyasi.

According to reports Steve and his family will visit the various tourist sites including the castles where slaves were kept, learn more about Ghanaian music and also about the African roots.

However, before Steve Harvey and his family take on the emotional trips to slavery monuments, he made sure to meet up with one of the few people he knows lives in Ghana…

… and that is none other than the oil and gas billionaire, Kevin Okyere.

Okyere whose Springfield was estimated by Forbes to be worth one billion dollars ($1bn) in 2018 was all smiles as he welcomed Harvey.

The two after having a chat and laughing were seen watching a game draughts between some of the workers at Springfield.

Harvey’s arrival in Ghana comes just about two months after the Springfield Group CEO sat with him on his popular programme, ‘‘Steve TV Show’’.
