America is taking over Ghana this year due to the Year of Return. This year marks 400 years since the first recorded slave ship arrived in the United States of America.
In remembrance of this the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo officially declared 2019 as the Year of Return.

We’ve been receiving a lot of Black-American celebrity visitors since the beginning of the year. Kofi Kingston, Samuel L. Jackson, Ilhan Omar and Deborah Cox have all been to Ghana this year. Steve Harvey is the lastest American celebrity to visit the country.
Another American celebrity who also wants to come to Ghana this year is Wale.

The rapper made this known in a tweet. “I have to go to Ghana this year,” Wale, wrote.

South African TV presenter, Bonang Matheba also expressed her desire of coming to the country.
She commented under Wale’s tweet saying: “Me too”
