Following the brawl at the 20th edition of the Ghana Music Awards, The two dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were detained by the police for questioning.
The two dancehall musicians were arrested and forced to spend the night in police custody for their involvement in the chaos that occurred during the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Stonebwoy had been called on stage to receive the Reggae-Dancehall Artiste of the Year award beating Shatta Wale, samini, and others.
Unexpectedly, Shatta Wale who was seated in the crowd decided to show up on the stage during Stonebwoy’s speech and it turned into a very chaotic situation leading to Stonebwoy pulling a gun.
The altercation brought the event to a halt for a lot of minutes before calm was restored and the two and another person of interest called Nii Amoo were picked up to help in police investigations.

Nii Amoo, according to the police, was seen “discharging pepper spray in the auditorium.”
In a statement signed by DSP Effia Tenge, the Head of Public Affairs Unit at the Greater Accra Police Regional Command, all three (Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Nii Amoo) have now been “granted bail to be arraigned” in due time.
As Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Nii Amoo wait for their time in court, the police said “the event organizers are also cooperating with the police in this investigation.”
