Ghanaians lambaste Nana Addo over Notre Dame condolence tweet

A section of Ghanaians on social media have attacked  President Akufo-Addo for ignoring flood victims in the country and rather choosing to sympathize with victims of the Notre Dame Cathedral fire.

However  another disaster struck in France as the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris was also engulfed in flames on Monday.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo took to his social media handle to send words of condolence to victims of the Notre Dame fire with a post which read,

“The Ghanaian people and I are shocked by the news of the destruction of the great Parisian Cathedral, Notre Dame, one of the most iconic buildings of world civilization and extend our heartfelt condolences to President and to the French people on their great loss,”

“Our thoughts are with them, and we are hopeful and prayerful that efforts to save what is left of this historic Cathedral will be successful.”

However, the President action seemed to irritate some Ghanaians who believe the President was being a hypocrite by  disregarding victims of the Accra floods and rather sympathizing with others in a foreign land.
