Stephen Amell is a Canadian actor, producer, and occasional professional wrestler .
He came to prominence for playing the lead role of Oliver Queen on The CW superhero series Arrow (2012–2020) based on DC Comics.
Stephen Amell also appeared in subsequent Arrowverse franchise media, along with reprising his role in various video games.

Stephen Adam Amell was born on May 8, 1981, in Toronto, Ontario.
He attended St. Andrew’s College, a private independent school for boys, and graduated in 2000.
Acting Career
In 2004, Stephen Amell appeared in the fourth season of a television series ‘Queer as Folk’, as a spinning instructor. The series ran from December 2000 to August 2005. He portrayed Adam in the first season of a television series ‘Dante’s Cove’ in 2005. It is an American LGBT-oriented supernatural soap opera, which continued till 2007. However, in the second season, Jon Fleming replaced him.
In 2007, he starred in ‘The Tracey Fragments’, where he played the role of a detective; and ‘Closing the Ring’, where he portrayed Teddy Gordon. The same year, he made a guest appearance in ‘ReGenesis,’ a television series. The series ran for four seasons. He bagged a Gemini Award for his guest-role on ‘ReGenesis’. Also that same year, he was nominated for the Gemini Award in the Best Ensemble Cast Category for ‘Rent-a-Goalie’, a comedy television series.
In 2010, he portrayed recurring roles in the comedy TV series ‘Da Kink in My Hair’, and ‘Heartland’, a family drama. In December the same year, he joined ‘The Vampire Diaries’, an American supernatural television series, where he portrayed Brady. He also portrayed Travis in ‘Blue Mountain State’, a comedy series.
In 2011, Stephen Amell appeared as Joran van der Sloot in a television film ‘Justice for Natalee Holloway’. In October the same year, he starred in HBO’s series, ‘Hung’, where he played Jason, a busboy-turned-prostitute. He also portrayed Jim in the fourth season of ‘90210’ in 2011. He also filmed the Christmas episode of ‘New Girl’, a television series. The same year, he did the short film ‘Stay with me’ as well, where he portrayed Travis.
In 2012, he played the recurring role of Scott Becker in ‘Private Practice’. He was then cast as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in an American action crime television series ‘Arrow’, for which he won a Best Ever TV Award 2015 for Best Couple and Steamiest Moment (shared with Emily Bett Rickards) and MTV Fandom Award in the category Ship of the Year.
In 2015, he did ‘Reelside’, a Canadian documentary television series.
In 2016, he did two films, ‘Code 6’ and an action adventure film ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’, and won CinemaCon Award for Male Star of Tomorrow for portraying Casey Jones in the latter.

WWE Appearances
Stephen Amell is a wrestling fan and appeared in two episodes of ‘WWE Raw’, a wrestling television program. In May 2015, he made his first WWE appearance on ‘WWE Raw’. He returned to Raw on August 10, and faced Stardust.
Later it was announced that Neville would team up with him to face Stardust and King Barrett at SummerSlam. On August 23, 2015, Amell, along with Neville, defeated Stardust and Barrett. He was awarded a Slammy for the ‘Celebrity Moment of the Year’ for his dive onto Stardust.

Amell is well known for his social work. He has hosted several fundraising campaigns through Represent.com. In 2014, he teamed up with the charity ‘Fuck Cancer’, and sold 60,000 T-shirts featuring his face, and raised $1 million.
He did another campaign in 2015, for two mental health charities, Stand For The Silent, and Paws and Stripes. In August 2015, he raised $300,000 from his guest appearance on ‘WWE Raw’ with Stardust for the children’s hospice Emily’s House.
