And thanks to an app developed by the race organisers, you can track the progress of your family and friends throughout the huge 26.2 mile race.

How can I track runners at the 2023 London Marathon?
The TCS London Marathon app allows users to track specific runners and see the leaderboard for the whole race.
It boasts a variety of exciting features and lets you find and track participants along the race route, helping you to keep up with split times, finishing positions and results throughout the day.
You can see their progress at every 5k split and track their pace. The app will also predict what time your runner will reach the next 5k checkpoint based on their current pace.
The app is available on iOS and Android devices.

When is the London Marathon 2023?
This year’s big marathon will take place this weekend on Sunday, April 23 2023.
The event will get going from 9.30am BST.
The race will last all day, but if you finish after 4.30pm BST, you will NOT receive a medal.
Kenenisa Bekele and Amos Kipruto are the favourites to win.
How can I watch the 2023 London Marathon?
The Marathon will be shown live on the BBC throughout the day.
BBC One: 8.30am-2.15pm
BBC Two: 2.15pm-3pm

What is the route for the London Marathon?
The 26.2 mile race will begin in Greenwich in South East London, before moving on to the Cutty Sark and the Shard.
From there, runners will cross Tower Bridge which is around the midway point of the race.
Canary Wharf will come next and then runners will descend upon Victoria Embankment and Westminster where they will come across the London Eye.
And lastly, they will pass Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament before turning onto The Mall toward the finish line, which is just a few metres away from Buckingham Palace.
