Who was Dan Cerrillo?
Dan Cerrillo was a retired Navy SEAL who served between 1993 and 2005. He was born in 1972 in California and belonged to a military family. His father was a part of the US army during the Vietnam War. This made Dan passionate about the services since his childhood days.
Dan grew up to graduate as a member of BUD/S Class 194 and served with SEAL Team One as an operator and instructor. He completed three deployments during his time with the Navy SEALs including directing missions related to Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom.
His heroics helped him earn a number of awards including a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Navy Commendation, as well as Navy and Presidential Unit Commendation Medals. After moving away from the SEALs, he worked for Vulcan Inc as a Control Risks Execution Protection Specialist.
Dan supervised several high-profile events including the Super Bowl, Oscars, and others. He also founded Spartan 7 Adventure in July 2016. The firm was born from a $2500 personal investment by Dan and evolved into Spartan 7 Inc three years later.

Dan Cerrillo, the former Navy SEAL, died in an unexpected manner on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He was 50 years old at the time of his death. The tragic news of his sudden passing was announced by his daughter Taylor Cerrillo, on Instagram.

“He suffered from a heart attack while he was running a shooting course,” Taylor Cerrillo stated on Instagram. She added: “I will do my best to continue on his dreams, his legacy, and his desire to save our hero’s (sic).”
Dan Cerrillo is survived by daughter Taylor, son Kellan, and wife Leilani. Her daughter is a flying trapeze artist who currently performs with Cirque Du Soleil. She also appeared on America’s Got Talent: Extreme with her troupe.
