Dale Halton, 85, the trailblazing CEO of Pepsi Bottling Company, was popularly known for being among the first female CEOs in Charlotte. Halton attended Myers Park High School, and after completing her graduation from Myers Park High, she went to Agnes Scott College in Georgia.

Halton’s grandparents, Henry and Sadie Fowler, founded the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Charlotte in 1905. In the 1970s, Halton joined the business and oversaw advertising. She revived her family business, Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Charlotte, which was near bankruptcy, and later became the CEO in 1981. She ran the company until 2005, after which she retired and sold the company to Pepsi Bottling Group Inc. of Somers, N.Y.
Throughout her life, Dale was known for giving back to her community through her foundation. She donated a significant amount of money to the Charlotte metropolitan area. Halton was honoured by UNC Charlotte with her induction into their inaugural Hall of Fame.
