When Is AKA Funeral? – Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, was a talented South African rapper who was born and raised in Cape Town.
Forbes began his musical career as part of the rap group Entity before he launched his solo career, winning several awards in South Africa for his music.
He was also celebrated internationally, with several nominations for a Black Entertainment Television (BET) Award in the US and an MTV Europe Music Award.
Hours before his death, the 35-year-old posted on social media about his upcoming album, Mass Country, which is set for release later this month.

AKA shot dead: Top South African rapper killed with friend
Top South African rapper AKA and his long-time friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, were shot dead on Friday night outside a popular eatery in Durban after having dinner there.
The parents of AKA, whose legal name Kiernan Forbes, confirmed the passing of their son on Saturday (Feb. 11) in an emotional statement on social media.
CCTV of the shooting has been circulating on social media, showing how two men opened fire at close range on the two and fled the scene on foot.
AKA parents release official statement about his death.
“It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening or February 10, 2023. We are awaiting further details from Durban police,” Tony and Lynn Forbes wrote in the statement, which was shared on AKA’s Twitter official account.
“To us, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kairo,” his parents added. “To many, he was AKA, Supa Mega, Bhova and the many other names of affection his legion of fans called him by. Our son was loved and gave love in return.”

AKA Funeral: When Is AKA Funeral?
The funeral details are as follows: “Kiernan will be laid to rest in a private provincial funeral on Saturday, 18 February 2023.”
His memorial service will take place on Friday, 17 February at the Sandton Convention Centre at 3PM. Those who wish to attend can do so by purchasing tickets at Web tickets however they will be limited.
