Confusion over the laid down processes to be followed by delegates in the ongoing parliamentary primaries in the Walewale Constituency has delayed voting by several hours.
Whereas the National Secretariat of the party had directed that voting be done at the electoral areas, constituency executives in the area disagreed and insisted that all delegates must converge at the Walewale Senior High School(WALSECTECH) to cast their ballots.
The move, according to them, is to prevent division after the primaries but this was only communicated to the Electoral Commission (EC )and the delegates only this morning.

At the time of going to the press, no voting had commenced at the constituency which happens to be the home constituency of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
In the Walewale Constituency, some five persons are contesting against the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) who is also the Deputy Agric Minister Dr Sagre Bambangi.
Two women are in the race for the Walewale Constituency. Susana Alo Tia, a Board Member of the Free Zone Authority and Larba B. Abudu, the Deputu Chief Executive of the Northern Development Authority (NDA).
Some 644 delegates are expected to cast their votes at 118 polling stations in 7 zones.
