Popular Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has got the nod to contest as the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 elections.
John Dumelo who expressed his interest in becoming a member of Parliament has emerged as the winner of the NDC primaries held on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Mr Dumelo polled 758 votes to beat his contender Suzsie Afua Adoboe who had 99 votes.
In all, a total of 859 votes were cast with 2 declared rejected.
His victory was greeted with rapturous cheers from teeming supports who had gathered at the La Bawaleshie polling station.
John Dumelo expressed congratulations to Ms Adoboe for putting up a good fight but noted that in every contest there was bound to be a winner and a loser.
